Open Letter For My Open Friend

Note: I call her Open Friend because we are so open with each other. I am not the open type of a person. I am usually reserved. But I guess in our lives, we will find someone we can share our secrets, problems, and dreams with. She's that someone in my life whom I'm thankful to have.

My Open Friend, I can't quite remember when our friendship began. But it all started in Catherine's Tribe. If we count the number of times we met personally, I don't think it would even reach 10. But it did not stop our closeness. You and I have a unique friendship. We were together (well, not physically. hehe) through the happiest and saddest moments of our lives.

You supported my dreams, hopes, and ambitions. You're also my greatest critic.

I'm not sure where I will be 10 years from now, how many friends I will have, or if you will still address me as Ms. or Mrs... Only one thing is certain. We will still be as close and as Anne-ish and as curiousa as we are right now. ^___^

And do you remember the promise we made a long time ago? We will be in each other's wedding. I told you I want you to be the one who'll speak at the reception and tell the story of how I met my husband.

I don't know who that guy might be. Or who will be included on my guest list. BUT ONE THING IS FOR SURE. I will hug you BEFORE I march down the aisle and I will hug you AFTER I say "I do".

W.R.I.T.E

Work-            This is the most important if you want to be a writer. For without this, all your wishes and day dreamings are worthless. In my early teenage years, writing was my dream. I wanted to be a writer and everyday, I would day-dream that I am writing.
Only when I really started to “write” did that desire come true. The path to writing is not easy. Working is not enough. There are more things to consider.

Risk-              I know may people who want to write but are afraid to try.
They are afraid that their work
might be ugly and nonsense. They are scared to pass it to the
                       publishers because of rejection.
But how will you know if you won't take the risk?
                      Remember: Quitters never win!

Inspiration-      Because the writing is not an easy task, and sometimes you get bored and your mind seems not working, you need inspiration.
                        Where would you get it?
It depends on what gives you happiness and joy. You can read the works of writers you look up to, you can also read articles about writing like this one you’re reading, and you can post on your desk some inspirational quotes or even pictures of loved-ones!

Time-              Maybe you have other works, or maybe you are a student. But if you really want to be a writer, give time to writing. No matter how little it is. The secret here is “time management”. If in one day you write just five pages, in one week you already have 35 pages. In just about a month, you can already finish your manuscript!

Escape-          From time to time, let your mind rest. If you’ve been writing for hours, stand up and do some stretchings. You can also walk to increase the blood flow so your creativity can work better.

New Blog

Hello there!
I always find first posts hard to write. I've made countless blogs already but still, writing the first posts gives me a bad headache. So I guess I'll keep this one short and simple.

Well, who am I and why am I making this blog?
Call me Yasmin Joo. That's my pseudonym in Precious Hearts Romance where I occasionally write love stories. I've already made a writing blog a year ago but I decided I want to share not only my life as a writer but also my life as a person who read, shop, travel, and LOVE.

Please be with me as I journey through this path called life.
